Stewardship of Canal
Path Begins

The first Canal Clean Sweep of the season was originally scheduled for April 17th, but due to inclement weather we postponed it and held it one week later. On Saturday, April 24th, a group joined forces to clean underneath the bridge on West Henrietta Road and along the canal trail toward Kendrick Road. The Tyndall brothers dragged a construction sign out of the canal! Mary Tyndall picked up broken glass under the bridge. David Field and Carol Baumeister
trimmed the brush along the path and picked up bottles and cans that had been thrown along the canal bank. Thanks also to Bob, Dan, Cindy, Louis, Nancy and the numerous children who participated.

More Clean-Ups Scheduled
Two more clean-ups are scheduled for this summer: Thursdays,
June 24 & July 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
Please meet at the parking lot on Kendrick Road by the canal, near the Ronald McDonald House. Bring gloves, water, and tools (like snips), to trim the path. Wear bright colors so the cyclists can see you. Trash bags will be provided. Questions? Call Sue Schickler at 473-1159 or Irvington@umhn.com
