Construction Up-dates

UofR Clinical and Translational
Science Building (CTSB)

The University of Rochester Medical Center is pleased to announce that ground has been broken for the new Clinical and Translational Science Building (CTSB). Because of the location of this construction site, adjacent to the School of Nursing's Helen Wood Hall and within our neighborhood, the University wishes to keep neighbors informed about the progress of the building's construction.

Date: Thursday, August 6, 2009

Subject:

Two Week Outlook of CTSB Construction Activities

For the period: August 6 through August 17, 2009.

Update on last week’s work:
Over the last two weeks, work has included continued sewer installation, demolition of asphalt pavement where trenching was required, and coordinating with subcontractors.

Two week outlook:
Project activities for the upcoming weeks will include continued site preparation and permanent utility work.

During the weeks of August 3rd and August 10th, storm sewer installation will continue and will be mostly completed by the week ending 8/14/09. The City of Rochester will provide a tap to the City water line for the project during this time.

LeChase and their subcontractors will begin select demolition of Helen Wood Hall/School of Nursing components that will be physically connected to the new building. This work will allow excavation work to begin at the end of August.

Long term outlook:
The project commenced May 26, 2009. The completion date has been advanced to March 2011 (previously June 2011).

As always, please feel free to reach me at 313-3992 (cell) or 276-5256 (field office) with any questions or concerns.
